CRAU

Dio is coming into this world after spending nearly a year and a half in Carvaka, a sex/exploration game taking place after the(supposed) 'End of All Things', where the world and the characters are sustained on belief and distraction, though not always very reliably. A full list of things he's done month-to-month can be found here[nsfw].

The place he spent most of his time there had been Fort Between, a fort town that was the only sign that civilization ever existed in the vast, deserted wasteland. There he was settled in with the help of the NPCs, Hedonists, who were strange people in various states of birdlike forms and possessed vast power to influence the world through their belief, a power which they shared with the characters they encountered.

Dio arrived reeling from his own death and thrown immediately into a perilous trap that left him hanging in the sunlight and suspended over a pit of fire.

Over his time in Carvaka, Dio has used his strength against numerous characters, and has lived through numerous large events, including:

-His arrival in a trap housed by a castle that was the first kind of civilization that the characters had come across. He spent the first month here, before finding out that the castle with it's deadly traps were an illusion, and then he settled into the new fort settlement, complete with a roommate, who he soon lost. It was a second lesson in losing those close to him, though he never really had strong feelings about Kamui.

-Dio's confidence is shaken as most threats to the settlement come in forms that he can't defend against. Parasitic plants manage to overtake him, controlling his mind and making him zombie-like, and a fake version of a person he cares about arrives and has to be destroyed because it doesn't belong. A whole illusion world is created and he fights to remain there even as the world collapses around him. He ultimately fails in his goals. During his bout with the parasitic plants, he learns of the location of 'something', and he manages to use those clues to find the Catacombs, where there were Elder Hedonists screaming and causing chaos for the settlement.

-During an event where rumors became true and an event where people change to suit the desires of others, Dio learns that who he is is WILDLY disapproved of. In the first event, he is wished into being smaller in form and not frightening, making it impossible for him to show anger in a scary way, and in the later event Dio gained the God-like power the Rewrite Truth, while also gaining a conscience. The conscience was temporary, but stuck in his mind as something he found he was lacking until very recently.

-The characters work very hard in order to improve the quality of life in the post-apocalyptic wasteland, and they find an intake for an aqueduct. Dio assists in being physical labor for cleaning the aqueduct, as well as offering to help the guard if necessary, though he wants to keep those efforts hushed.

-Dio remembers what it's like to be a human and to fear death and other pains when body-swapping happens. He's in the body of a small, un-powered human for a few days, and is afraid to meet his own body due to being worried that the owner of his current body would come to beat him up, kill him, or worse. He also overeats and finds Giorno, his son, and the disgust he has for him and his impulsive ways, and he decides to stop his drinking, at the least.

-At times, Dio takes part in numerous community projects in addition to the aqueduct, including voting on church rules, even suggesting one or two of his own, and he starts a small brawler's group. Near the end of his time in Carvaka, Dio joins a large expedition to find Sophia, an enigmatic entity that seemed to have a lot of sway in their world, and offers his help in cooling people down as they walk through the desert.

Personality:
Original personality, sans development:
Dio's personality is best summed up in describing him as a megalomaniac with antisocial personality tendencies. To start, he has delusions of being 'above' other people, none of which directly stemmed from his turning into a vampire, though the transformation did manage to exacerbate the thoughts, really cementing them in his mind as he placed himself 'above' humanity. But even in youth, he believed that he was 'better' than others. Stronger, faster, smarter, and more worthy, and he was more than willing to prove himself to these ends, usually to his adoptive brother's dismay. He has a certain sense of pride in everything that he does, from gloating about learning to fight from the slums to showing off his intelligence. He wins a fight against Johnathan, his adoptive brother, in a boxing match quite easily, and then continues to show off 'his technique' to the kids who had been watching and he bests Jojo in grades as well, graduating as valedictorian for the sole reason that he wished to break his brother's spirit.

And he certainly DOES show off, more than is necessary. Dio is, like much of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, extraordinarily theatrical, which comes along with being the main villain for most of the series. Everything he does, says, and wears has a bit of an extra flair when it counts. In fact, he does have a bad habit of reminding people of his name in normal conversations with his manner of speech, as if he were a character in a play rather than someone acting naturally. His style of dressing is also based in this need to stand out, as well as the comfort he takes in his body, as he tends to wear revealing or skin-tight clothing, sometimes with a cape or some other long, flowing accessory, and nearly always provocative in nature, and he tends to pose his body in sometimes strange and always exceedingly confident ways.

He is a pleasure seeker, and has no problem in indulging himself in any facet. He likes to partake in sexual activities, drinking alcohol, and other such things that would be labelled 'risky behavior'. In fact, he does have alcohol problems at times, often drinking when he is stressed, despite it being something that disgusts him because of his alcoholic father. It's something he does have trouble controlling.

Dio is also known for his ambition and ruthlessness. He isn't concerned in the least with social mores or ethics when it comes to getting what he wants, and he will usually go with the most extreme method to meet his goals first, never doing things in half-measures. He's not afraid to resort to the most gruesome violence that he can think up, so long as it will get the effect that he prefers, and of course, he DOES prefer violence just for the sake of it at times.

This doesn't mean, however, that he has a hard time interacting with most people. If one is a subordinate to him, or even if they are simply unrelated to his ambitions, Dio can appear to be downright friendly and charming. Despite his villainous nature and his mile-long sadistic streak, Dio has developed in his century of life the ability to truly appreciate the company of others, and he can, in fact, form (somewhat)meaningful relationships with people, though they are also subject to his manipulation and deception. He can be perfectly pleasant with these people, enjoying spending time with them, even if it is just reading a book alongside them or waxing philosophical about religion and reality. They are important to him in such a way that he has 'invested' in them, and he values loyalty above anything and often tests the loyalty of these 'friends', including when he asked Vanilla Ice to give him his blood and when he asked Pucci why he did not simply take his Stand(Pucci's ability was to be able to take the Stands and memories of other people by taking a disc out of their heads) and then forcing his fingers into his hand and allowing him to even hold the disc to see if he would betray him. Both of these two 'passed' their tests, which endeared him to them, though if the trust was ever broken, he would have no regrets about cutting them down.

Dio has a love of intellectual pursuits as well, often being seen reading a book, which can be of any number of subjects. He also went to a prestigious academy, where he had intended to graduate as top of his class in law, though he never got to graduate due to the whole 'trying to kill his father, being found out and turning into a vampire' thing. Even so, his love of knowledge does not stop at old-fashioned knowledge or the liberal arts. He is impressed and fascinated by the technology of today, and has not had many issues in keeping up with it, being willing and able to use television, automobiles, and quite likely telephones and other such modern conveniences. He even mentions watching television at some point(a Micheal Jackson concert, at that), and he shows particular interest in automobiles(he touches one in a manner that is usually taken as suggestive as he mentions that 'in his youth, there were only carriages). He even interjects a simile about an airplane stewardess serving a first-class passenger when he orders a woman to fetch him his leg, and is known to travel the world quite a bit, so it's fair to assume he takes red-eye flights often.

He is not, however, the calm, cool and intellectual villain that he likes to portray himself as. He certainly does fake it well, when things are going his way, but he is prone to panic when he is cornered, and does things that he later feels ashamed for(though his pride would never allow him to admit his shame). He has cried after being punched by his adopted brother, attempted to reason with him that 'he was only acting out because of his upbringing' and lied saying that he would turn himself in to the police, and even tried to offer his brother(then his enemy) immortality in order to get him to release him so that he would not be killed by an impending boat explosion. In his older years, he is more cautious, and so he gets less opportunities to show this panicked state, but in the end, after he's nearly defeated and he realizes that he can't win he does lose his composure again, showing fear and attempting to run away.

CRAU Development
Over his time in Carvaka, Dio has learned how to live without once more. It began with the loss of all of his followers, and his mansion, along with all of his material possessions. Dio never really stopped wanting for things, but over the year of living in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, he never lost enough of his arrogance to learn how to ask for help, and thus has had to deal with having very little. This, along with the loss of respect and the complete loss of power over others has also lead to Dio remaining at an arm's length with people.

His inability to charm others in-game has taught him not to even try, and so he's much less charismatic than he once was, though he knows how to be charming when it will work in his favor. In the meantime, he finds himself trying to make connections with people on a more open, honest manner.

Dio has found himself getting lonely more easily, and has since attempted to learn how to connect with people more, though communication with him outside of what he knows well can come off as stilted and awkward.

After going through the trauma of suddenly feeling the guilt of his actions over over a century of evil, and after the way people automatically suspected the worst of him when he asked for assistance on the public network once, he's pledged(internally) to change his ways. It's a long and difficult road, and it makes Dio more tense and paranoid than he once was. He tends to get defensive about criticism, and also whenever anyone acknowledges his 'better' nehavior, assuming that they are patronizing him. This has lead to him being more secretive about anything that wasn't completely neutral or typically 'evil' behavior.

His end goal is to create his Heaven, though his motivation for it now has been the memory of his fallen followers who had sacrificed their lives for him and his cause. Force, however, has not worked out for him, so Dio has taken to trying to make 'friends', though he still doesn't believe in the idea of friendship as a concept. He is trying to learn how to let down his guard around people enough to truly connect with others, but it still seems to be a disjointed connection, and if push came to shove, he would abandon the other people for his own ends, though the threshold at which he'd abandon others has been getting higher and higher.

All in all, he is in the midst of a Villain's Redemption Arc, with the goal in mind being to create some place where he and his followers(and friends or lovers) can be happy, just by being there. He also has his own happiness in mind, and still will do very little if it doesn't somehow benefit him, he just has a different idea of what will get him to his objectives.

Abilities: Because a Wiki link is always a good thing. In addition, here is a link to an itemized list of powers, strengths, and weaknesses that I've written previously.

Dio is a vampire first and foremost. Jojo-verse vampires have some interesting abilities, including: heightened strength/speed/senses, drinking blood with tentacles/blood vessels in their fingers, the ability to regenerate even more quickly than fire can consume their body(blood-powered), the ability to freeze their own body and whatever they touch, manipulation of flesh(used in canon to create hybrid creatures, as well as fix a birth defect in a character), hypnotize people by sight(Lost as a Death Price in Carvaka), plant 'buds' in peoples' minds to control them from a distance(though it weakens the person who is controlled considerably), and they can manipulate their body pretty completely(utilized by Dio when he cuts his own head off and uses the blood vessels to get around in his final battle with Johnathan, as well as him being able to pressurize his bodily fluids and shoot them like a laser from his eyes).

He also has an aversion to direct sunlight and sunlight-based powers. As in a 'vaporizes in sunlight' type aversion. He is not affected by garlic, crosses, running water, or the 'rule of courtesy'(when a vampire cannot come in uninvited).

In addition to his vampiric powers, Dio develops a Stand in Stardust Crusaders(no need to read the link unless you need a more in-depth explanation of Stands than I provide).

A Stand is a spiritual manifestation of power that usually(but not always) takes on a humanoid appearance. A Stand cannot usually be seen by anyone but a Stand user, and cannot be affected by anyone but a Stand User(this will be a bit different in-game than in canon, due to different universes), and any damage to the Stand is reflected on it's User as well as vice-versa. Dio's Stand is called 'The World', and it can travel up to 10m away from Dio, is very fast and powerful, and has the ability to stop time for up to 11 seconds(can be shorter, depends on his energy levels).

In addition, he has a secondary Stand, 'Hermit Purple', which is a non-humanoid Stand that manifests as purple vines. Their offensive capabilities are not great, but it can be used as a sort of spiritual GPS. Through touch, anything with a reflective surface can show anyone you wish to see, and touching a polaroid camera can offer you a photograph of that person. In addition, it can create maps out of substances such as sand or liquids, so long as it is able to be shaped that way.

Strengths:
- Intelligent
- Focused/Determined
- Confident(in some areas more than others)
- Ambitious
- Curious
Weaknesses:
- Conceited/Vain
- Cruel
- Paranoid
- Distant/Cold in demeanor
- Short-tempered

God/Shinki: God
Why?: Dio would blight his master FAR too much. Or he would BE the blight. He considers himself 'evil' and has a god complex that would no doubt cause any god who housed him much strife. He is very headstrong and independent and would resist the idea of having a 'master' to the point that he'd much rather be an ayakashi/phantom and possibly lose his sentience than take orders from anyone else, even without his memories(or perhaps even moreso without them). He also played the role of a fearsome and awesome god to a small cult in canon, though he has since learned humility and is desperate for approval like he'd once experienced. Also, OOCly I wanted to CRAU him specifically in order to have him go through a sort of stilted redemption arc, so I'd rather have him retain his memories for that purpose.
Top 3 Choices:
Tezcatlipoca- Aztec(Jaguar God; God of War/Night; A creation deity associated with divination, temptation, rulership, and hurricanes, among other things. Known as 'The Smoking Mirror', alluding to obsidian "the material from which mirrors were made in Mesoamerica which were used for shamanic rituals and prophecy")
Set- Egyptian(God of Storms/Chaos; Known as both a protagonist and antagonist over numerous myths, notable for ruling over half of Egypt and fusing with other gods to assist the heavens)
Hu Jiang Jun- Tao(Tiger God; represents Authority/Bravery- offers protection or causes accidents)
God Type: Dio has a goal in mind, coming in. Before Between, he had once effectively been a god, complete with a following. His goal then, and his goal now, will be to 'Create Heaven' for himself and his followers. This will essentially translate into Dio attempting to amass followers of great power or influence, and he is rather willing to do about anything for the right follower. That's not to say he is desperate, he won't belittle himself or raise others above him, but he will protect those who raise him up, give power to those who are willing to subjugate themselves to him, and happily inflict destruction upon those who would stand in his way or in the way of his followers. What he asks of his followers can be jewels/gold/luxury, blood/sacrifice, or even simply their loyalty to him above all else. He is benevolent up until the moment that he has need to not be, and would happily rain his wrath down upon the heads of those who turn from him, unless he finds them to be useless or otherwise not worth his energy. As for whether he'd stay true to the kind of god that he was chosen to be, that would depend completely on whether it was convenient to him or not. He wouldn't go out of his way to follow their footsteps, but neither would he fight the designation either, particularly if he finds something he likes about it. Dio does tend to enjoy finding motifs for himself.

Power: Feline form- taking the shape of members of the family of Felidae(generally full-form but can perhaps take characteristics as well?? Chosen because I wanted something to build upon without giving him anything offensive in nature, seeing as his canon abilities are already very powerful. (As for it being something possible to develop in-canon, well... his Canon AU self, Diego, has a Stand that turns himself and anything he scratches/bites into a dinosaur, and the same kind of power is available in the original universe as well.)

Anything Else?: Sorry about CRAU from a sex game, but I really like the development he's gone through so far, and would hate to have to start him over from the beginning. He was a BIG baddie, and hard to gain ground with CR-wise. Also, he will be coming in with Masaki, and we'd love to have them paired up if possible!
