In any case, I do not make it a habit to gossip about the things that go on between myself and Montague. While I appreciate your interest in punishing him, this is a matter between himself and me.

I have to disagree. Given that he is mine and has a new bad reaction to you, I would like to know what happened. Pets are troublesome like that, and I have what you might call a personal stake in his continued well-being.

If he does indeed belong to you, then I advise you to keep a tighter leash on him in the future, if you are truly invested in his well-being.

I used my power to control others on him, if that is what you so desperately need to know. I suspect he doesn't care much for having his will taken out of his hands and placed in another's. As for what he did to me to warrant it, it is in the past, so long as he allows it to remain so, but I have reason to believe that he and I are not through with each other yet.

I do not wish to further this feud. I would owe you a favor if you would take him off of my hands.

I keep telling myself I'll get him a stake and tie-out, but other things come up.

You know how humans and their wounded pride are, and Monty does have so much pride in him. Ah well. He does have other uses to me. You are most likely right, but I will see what I can do with him. A rolled up newspaper does wonders.

Very well then. I will bring him to heel, and you will leave him be. I find those terms acceptable. No favor is required, but my kind would never turn down such an offer.
