[She laughs a little, wiggling in her seat. Oh man oh man so was this why he fought a lot...?]

[Dio had a number of ideas of what she could be thinking of that were pleasant and terrifying, but he wasn't going to suggest anything, instant just looking at her with interest, allowing her to speak.]

[She nods, nibbling her lip. It's true. There could be damage, but. But. She's already doing what she can. And really, while it is one way to help people, with the politics or whatever, there are other ways.

As for the other people...let them. They're not the ones who make me feel cherished, safe, and happy.

[Truly, he felt better that she would date other people. That... actually made it less awkward, but he'd have to tell Jonathan about it too.]

Before you set your mind on it, I want you to know that there is a possibility that Jonathan won't be okay with it.

[And if he wasn't, Dio would choose Jonathan. It was implied, because he felt that saying it aloud was rather cruel. Implying it at all was rather cruel, but he couldn't lie about that.]

[She doesn't know, what he's done. What he could do. Why people may hate, or fear him. She knows this.

And she knows if it came down to it, Jonathan would come first.]

[She blinks rapidly, offers him a smile. It's a bit wobbly around the edges.]

[Oh. He'd wanted her to reconsider it, but he didn't want her being sad about that either. Fuck. Fuck! Shit.]

I... suppose if you are determined. I would love to have you.

[Now might not have been the best of times, or it might have been. There was no way to know, but either way Dio was probably about as frightened as Masaki, though for wildly different reasons.]

I will do my best to be worthy of your decision.

[She ducks her head, and nods. Admitting that she wanted to be with him, maybe even marry him one day-that was..

Well. If he rejected her, it would hurt, but she would recover. She hoped.]

That's all we can do, is our best.

[She takes a deep breath, and tilts her face back up. Someone else might have found it funny that she was freaking out the big scary vampire. She didn't.]

But lets put that to rest for now, okay? Lets talk about something else, like...

[She strokes a couple of fingers over her pulse, on her throat. Oh, you know. Lunch. Snacks. Whatever.]

[Many people would no doubt find it amusing that the things that freak Dio out were normal human interactions. Why else would be avoid them so much...?

And then Masaki had to go reminding him that she'd offered to feed him.]

Mmmhhh... [Surely, he could have a little from someone who may one day be his wife.]

Yeah...? You want to talk about it....?

[Dio is something. He really is. She snorts, and shakes her head, smiling.]

Actually...no. I was just going to offer. If you're hungry.

[She shrugs, abashed now. Yeah, maybe she was being a little silly about this.]

Mhhh, if you'd like to. [He was thinking on it, anyway. He could probably do so without seeking any more attention, right?]
